Stability Fund

The Stability Fund supports the sustainability of charitable organisations in Bedfordshire which deliver key services, addressing urgent need and preventative services.

The fund will contribute to financial stability over 2 years for charitable organisations with a strong track record (minimum 3 years) of support for Bedfordshire residents. Organisations must have an annual income of more than £15,000 and less than £200,000 within the last financial year.

Grants of £10,000 per year (maximum 2 years) are available, for up to 6 organisations – 2 in each of the following Local Authority areas:

  • Bedford Borough
  • Central Bedfordshire
  • Luton

Fund Priorities

Please read the criteria document carefully before submitting your Expression of Interest.

The Stability Fund supports charitable organisations committed to equity and fairness which are addressing priorities outlined in BLCF’s Strategic Plan, including the following:

  • Mental Health – young people, older people, social exclusion or those who are vulnerable.
  • Poverty – addressing the root cause, including; homelessness, Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG), retraining, and employment.

Applicants will need to demonstrate that their project meets one of the fund priorities outlined above.  For more detailed information about these objectives, please read the criteria document.

 

Expressions of Interest

If you are interested in applying to this fund, please complete our short Expression of Interest form HERE and a member of the Grants Team will contact you about your application as soon as possible.

The deadline for Expressions of Interest is Monday 28th April 2025 (decision-making panel meets late July 2025).

Next Steps

Following the Expression of Interest deadline, and if it is deemed appropriate, a member of the Grants Team may contact applicants to discuss a possible application.

Organisations with prospective applications which closely align with the fund priorities will be invited to make a full application for funding (subject to available funds).

The outcome of these full applications will be decided by a community panel of local residents who meet regularly and best understand the change needed in their local area.
