UKSPF Culture Fund

This project is part-funded by UK Shared Prosperity Fund

Bedfordshire & Luton Community Foundation are proud to have been commissioned by Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC) to deliver the UKSPF Culture Fund, a new high-quality arts and culture grant scheme to support communities and deliver outcomes across its strategic objectives in Central Bedfordshire. Central Bedfordshire Council plays a leadership and enabling role in supporting the culture sector in Central Bedfordshire. This programme is part-funded by UK Shared Prosperity Fund and is an opportunity to support the cultural sector and local communities within Central Bedfordshire.

We invite applications for the Central Bedfordshire Culture Fund, which will enable Central Bedfordshire Council to support local community activity and ambitions going forward; helping more people access more art forms. Grants will be awarded to projects that support the priorities and aspirations outlined in the criteria.

There are three grant levels for this fund:

Round 1:

Pilot and Test: Grants between the value of £500-£7500 to pilot and test a new idea or new way of working with partners and creative individuals in the community over a six-month period. Please read the Pilot and Test criteria HERE.

Deadline date for applications: 24th May 2024 (midday)

Creative Development: A fund to grow creative sector organisations in their impact on the sustainability of the creative ecosystem of Central Bedfordshire over an eighteen-month period. Applicants can apply for up to £40,000 to support creative development in Central Bedfordshire over an 18-month period. This fund is designed for organisations with a significant artistic connection to Central Bedfordshire’s creative and cultural sector to support the local creative economy. Deadline date for applications: 24th May 2024 (midday)

Round 2:

Grow and Maintain Fund (Opening December 2024): Grants up to £22,000 for organisations to grow new partnerships, create more ambitious projects, and sustain their impact in the creative sector in Central Bedfordshire. Funding is available for up to one year. Please check back in November 2024 for more information.

The key priorities of the UKSPF Culture Fund are:

· Place: Encouraging a sense of pride in place. Celebrate and enrich the beauty and character of Central Bedfordshire through art and culture, fostering a sense of pride and belonging among residents.

· Community: Nurturing well-being and inclusivity. Cultivate a vibrant offer that promotes the well-being of its residents, nurtures strong communities, brings communities together and ensures that everyone feels included.

· Economy: Creating a thriving arts and cultural sector. Support the development and growth of the sector within Central Bedfordshire.

Applicants applying for this fund will need to demonstrate that their project meets one or more of the themes outlined above. We encourage individuals

who work in the creative industries in Central Bedfordshire and need support in finding partner organisations to support a pilot project to get in touch with us.
